Freedom Winders specialise in end-to-end winder upgrade and installation management for mine sites across Australia and globally. Our tailored solutions and strategic approach are customised to each project requirements with a focus on delivering outstanding service and results.

Our capabilities cover everything from managing and coordinating the upgrade and installation of winder system vendor designs, through to overseeing safety system design and audit work. As part of our bespoke solution, our team will also manage and coordinate all project work, logistics and personnel for site operations to minimise project impact.

Project Management

  • Project budget management is a key role of the project team, ensuring the best solution for the funds allocated to the project.

    Schedule management to achieve delivery when required. Working with vendors and site teams to achieve the goals on time.

    Routine reports by project team to site management is part of the project management to ensure delivery is matched to expectations.

  • Management of internal and external stakeholders to ensure satisfaction with the solution. This will include:

    • consultation during design and planning,

    • design reviews and approvals,

    • inspection of equipment and installation,

    • approval and sign-off of the work.

    The project management team has experience gained within operating companies working with personnel including Site Management, Managing Directors and Board members.

Design

  • The design for winder system will be customised to site needs. The electrical design will include site specific standards and preferred equipment where possible. This includes preferred voltage levels, standard electrical schematics and communication hardware.

    Mechanical design will be customised to site equipment and system requirements. This includes brackets and supports “fit for purpose” and specific to the site and equipment. This includes frames and brackets used for installation and temporary support necessary for safe project execution.

  • A project team with significant site based experience will work with site personnel, winder system vendors, equipment vendors, safety system specialists, installation contractors and regulators to deliver a fit for purpose winder system. This will include design integration with:

    • Site High Voltage distribution system

    • Site Low Voltage distribution system

    • Site control supply system

    • Site communication network and system

    • Site control system to integrate winder operation with site

    • Site hydraulic and mechanical systems

    • Site maintenance management system for planned maintenance and spares

Install

  • With the winder project team integrated as part of the site team, the installation work can be coordinated with site requirements to minimise business impact. Site experienced personnel are able to work with site stakeholders and understand business imperatives. This allows easier coordination of work into normal business plans.

  • Shutdowns have a major impact in cost, time and production for any site. A site experienced project team understands this and can understand what the business needs.

    Shutdown coordination with site personnel will ensure minimal business impact. Shutdowns are essential to allow work to be completed safely. The number, duration and scale of the shutdowns will be managed with site teams.
